Biochem

Shouldn't matter what department offers it as long as it's a Biochemistry prefix.

Thanks so much for the responses. I have one additional question. I am debating on whether to take the course as a Spring Quarter class or a summer course. Will the fact I am on a Quarter system hurt me? Should I take two quarters for the schools that recommend biochem?

Hmm, not entirely sure... but if a quarter term of Biochem at your institution implies covering roughly the same amount of material as a class on a typical semester system then obviously they should be equivalent credits.

In the end it's not really all that critical; Biochem is merely a recommended course rather than a pre-req so it's sort of up to you how much you want to have under your belt by matriculation. I would say take the class in the spring, and if you only make it through 2/3 of the desired material then continue on to the next Biochem class. Hope this helps.

At some schools it's required.

Doesn't matter if you take it via Biology or Chemistry. My school currently offers both and if I do well in the Bio version I think I will take the Chem version ( Just out of interest and a good lab professor). Quarter system doesn't matter as long as you get the same number of creds as everybody else.

Ah, true. In that case he might want to check in with those particular schools to make sure he meets the specific requirement. But again, I think it should all be in order.

Great! Well I want to take the course during the summer i will be applying. will i be able to put it as a future course and then update the grade when it is finished? will it still help me out for admission?
