As far as I can tell, five DO schools require biochemistry:

DMU
KCUMB
RVU
MUCOM
UNECOM

Two of those schools are very, very intriguing to me and I would love to apply, but I have not taken biochemistry and, what's more, it is not offered at my school (CC...I'm a non-trad). There is a university here where I could try to get in through open university, but there's no guarantee of getting in the class and it would be quite expensive.

Two real questions:

1.) I know UNECOM has an online biochemistry course. Is this accepted by the other schools on the list as well?

2.) Could I apply to these schools without biochemistry listed anywhere on my application? The stipulation being that if I get an acceptance, I would just have to complete the course before matriculating.

I know DMU accepts the UNE course. Not sure about the others though.

@karling I would recommend every med student to take biochem and genetics before starting med school...
