I have been planning on taking biochem my senior year. However, what I hadn't planned on was also doing my MA my senior year. As I was signing up for fall senior classes, my fellow MAs in my department highly discouraged taking biochem along with my master's courseload because it wouldn't be practical.

My question is since a lot of school are requiring or recommending taking biochem during the undergraduate years, would it weaken my application that I didn't take biochem because I opted to focus on my Master's instead?

My main concern is for the schools that recommend taking biochem.

Thanks!

only a few schools require biochem. i did enjoy the subject though (not sure if thats true) and if you have been looking forward to take it, why cant you take it alongside your coursework? how about at a different local school? online?

i dont think it will affect your application. if you get into a school that requires biochem you can take it over the summer before, which sucks but hey
