I am going to Lehigh next year as a BioE major. However, what I'm really aiming for is to go to med school. Would I be severely disadvantaged by majoring in BioE? I am very interested in it but I don't want to sacrifice my chances at med school because of it!

Thanks!

You will be fine. Get a high GPA, decent MCAT score, volunteer and shadow and you can get in.

I always say that if you major in something you like, getting a high GPA is easy.

No you will not be at a disadvantage. 5-10% of my med school class has some type of engineering background and are all doing just fine. As the previous poster said, do well in classes, do well on the mcat and have some extracurriculars.
