Hello,

I was wondering, can you just study DAT destroyer bio questions and memorize answers as well as work through all of bootcamp tests and qvault tests and memorize answers or is Cliffs and Ferralis need to really understand the material.

Thank you so much!

You can memorize answers, but you'll be left with a lot of conceptual holes for obvious reasons.

I think understanding how systems work yields the greatest payoff on the DAT. Granted I only got a 21 on the BIO section, but I didn't do a single destroyer question in the process. If you do what I did + Destroyer, you'll be golden.

How did you study for bio?

I used 2 sources:
Chad's
Bootcamp.

Chad's videos for biology does a decent job, but it doesn't cover everything. I just took notes and made flashcards on the terms they mentioned in the videos. For Bootcamp, I reviewed every single answer I got wrong until I understood the "bigger picture."

Wow great scores, you didn't use cliffs or feralis for the topics Chad didn't cover ?

Thanks haha. Found my breakdown?

No Cliffs or Feralis. I spent more of my time studying the other sections of the DAT.

For BIO, I felt that Chad's covered most of the important material. I basically memorized everything in those videos, and then I used Bootcamp to fill in the missing pieces. I felt that this was enough to get a 20+, but please note that I'm a 4th year biology major. I would recommend that you make use of the resources available to you (Feralis, Destroyer, etc.) to secure a good score.

Destroyer is sweet for the Chems and Math, but you really ought to use Cliffs AP Bio 3rd ed. for comprehensive bio review. If you're struggling with bio you can do Ferali's after Cliffs. (It's really just a review of cliffs with some extra helpful details thrown in like microscopy and broader phylogeny.)

Ok thank you so much

I answered all of destroyers questions and made flashcards for EVERY SINGLE question and answer choice. It was literally insane but I memorized them and combined with my general interest in biology was able to score a 24.
