Hi all,

I'm wondering from previous experience if studying the DAT destroyer was enough to ace the biology section of the DAT? I've been studying from the AP Barron Biology and also started to dab into the Cliff's notes. The problem I am facing is that, AP Barron biology is too general, when I did the DAT destroyer, they were very specific. I am wondering should I just use the DAT destroyer as my primary source of study. As in memorize the answers plus but also going to sources to understand the basic information of the question.

Thanks.

The DAT Destroyer served as my main study tool, with a little supplement from Feralis Bio notes and the free DAT bootcamp tests. I highly recommend the Destroyer for all science sections, especially bio. While, the 563 bio questions may seem a bit excessive, going through each correct answer, along with the remaining incorrect choices will have you well versed in almost every topic you could potentially see on the real DAT.

That being said, I feel as though my undergrad prepared me extremely well for the biology section as well, which could have contributed to some success. Ultimately, as a science study tool, I don't think the DAT Destroyer can be beat. After going through it multiple times, my scores on the real DAT were 24 Bio, 23 GC, and 23 Orgo.

When is your test? Destroyer doesn't take that long to run through maybe 2 weeks if you're familiar with the info and go through it slowly

I would recommend going through a combo of Feralis (which includes pertinent info. from Cliffs and Barron's) and Destroyer. As a humanities major, I was kind of worried about the bio section, given that it covers a wide variety of topics. But I ended up with the a 24! You should be in good hands with the aforementioned materials.

If you know the basics of biology, the Destroyer is a great resource. If not, you'll want to go through Cliffs and maybe youtube, then do Destroyer. Otherwise, you'll get almost everything wrong (may or may not have happened to me...)

Destroyer and Cliffs were enough to get me through the DAT Bio. Just make sure to mark questions you got wrong in Destroyer and understand the answer, especially if the answer consisted of multiple choices. I also recommend making a list of topics you aren't familiar with after you go through Destroyer and then read the Cliff's chapters on them to try and retain as much of the details as possible. Its a lot of information and you may feel overwhelmed but the more information you expose yourself to, the better your chances are. I ended up with a 26 in Bio as a result of these two resources.

The Bio Destroyer is a great resource to use for Biology. Be sure to review your correct answers as well since the back of the book explanations may offer new tidbits of info you hadn't known or considered.

Triple Threat: Feralis Notes (Learn), Destroyer (Review), Bootcamp (Assess).

The way I have been studying the biology section through destroyer is, I would do the first 20 questions. Anything I didn’t understand, I would go and watch either videos on the topic to help me get a better understanding or just go back to the books. I’m thinking of just focusing on the destroyer and its problem set. And I'm hoping that as long as I understand the answer solution I should be good?
