Hello everyone,
Just a quick question. I am one week into Ary's study guide for DAT. I am currently going over the metabolic pathways, i took biochem this past semester so they are all still fresh in my head. However i studied these cycles in much more detail than presented. Should i study these again in as much detail or should i just go by what the resources present? I don't want to be wasting time memorizing
minutiae details that wont make a difference in the long run. Side note, how much on average did you all study per day? Im currently banking at around 5/6 hours a day but i feel like that is too little time. Thanks!

They aren't testing the biochemistry of it. Feralis had hexokinase and PFK in his notes, so as far as the biochem goes it isn't really tested. When I started ARI schedule I did roughly 4-5 hours as well the 1st week. When topics become harder and you start doing more PAT & QR it'll start adding up.

As far as the schdule, I would suggest trying to complete the earlier days of biology faster than the schedule anticipates. This will give you more time to understand the denser sections. Anatomy/Phys, Taxa, etc.

Since every DAT is unique and biology is such a broad subject, it is best to cover breadth not depth. It's easy to get lost in all the fine details and forget the simple ones. As far as the complex biochemical pathways, I wouldn't waste your time relearning all of the specific details of every pathway; rather, learn the products of each, where they occur, and if they produce NAD+/NADH.

Ari's study guide and resources are a pretty good representation of what the actual DAT will contain. Again, since every DAT is unique, take everything with a grain of salt since your biology section may contain pathway-heavy questions
