Biomes

I have a hard time retaining information about the biomes such as tundra, savanna, chaparral, etc. This is something that is in the Kaplan book but I personally dont think it is going to be tested. Did you guys who took the DAT think this is something I should put some time into?

i did not have the biome question on my DAT, but it is something that could come up.

I just took the DAT yesterday. There were zero questions about biomes, or even ecology for that matter. There were quite a few questons that I would lump in the general category of "comparative anatomy." Several questions regarding organ systems of various phyla, and that damn sea urchin question. I studied Kaplan and took all three topscore exams and managed a 26 on the Bio section. I really don't know how, I was only getting 21-22 on the practice tests. Lucky me I guess.

Lucky me guess. Any advice I could give would be to study bio with an eye towards comparison across phyla.

I was the unlucky one with 2 biome questions about savanna and deserts.

this section is probably one of the easier sections to study. just remember the name of the biome and some basic characterisitcs (climate and life present). i had a couple of questions on biomes on my exam too. its worth the time to study this section for a couple of hours.

THe DAT is so random, it is pretty hard to study the specifics. So I just memorized general information on the biome and got one question on it on the real DAT. I am glad I looked it over the day before the exam.
