I personally didn't have anything bizarre, but I've heard of a few people who've had a question here and there about some rare disease (probably an experimental question, though).
Robbin's Basic Pathology is a great text for pathophys and will prepare you for everything path you need, but unfortunately it's really long (it's better to have read it during your course than as a board review). As far as pure review texts go, if you stick with BRS Pathology, First Aid, and Robbin's Review of Pathology, you'll be set for pathophys and all the disease mechanisms
