We have completed selection of students for the Case School of Medicine University Program class entering in July, 2007. Each year we do experience withdrawals prior to the date of matriculation and in anticipation of this, would like to offer you a place on our alternate list. Please note that the number and timing of these withdrawals is quite unpredictable, and thus, we are unable to determine your chances of acceptance.
The AAMC will allow you to remain on alternate lists even if you are holding an acceptance to another medical school. If indeed you are holding another position, do nothing to jeopardize it, as again, we are unable to predict your likelihood of acceptance to the Case School of Medicine. If the acceptance is your preferred choice, we request that you withdraw your application from Case by notifying us.
If you would like to hold a place on our alternate list, we will consider your application until our classes begin on July 12, 2007, or until the date of scheduled matriculation at another school, relying on the earlier date of the two.
If you have not been accepted by a medical school by June 15, 2007, and wish to reapply for consideration in 2008, we suggest that you begin the reapplication process through AMCAS. Although a possibility exists that you may gain acceptance this year, a delay in reapplying is not in your best interest.
We appreciate your continuing interest in our school and your patience through this often times difficult application process. Please take a moment to REPLY TO THIS EMAIL with your decision. We are hopeful that you remain interested in the Case School of Medicine and look forward to your favorable reply.
For record keeping purposes please indicate one of the following in your reply:
Yes, I would like to be placed on the alternate list
OR
No, I would not like a place on your alternate list. Please withdraw my application.
A RESPONSE IS DUE BY MAY 1, 2007. If we do not receive a response by May 1 your application will automatically be withdrawn from consideration.
Thank you.
Best Wishes,
