blood hypotonic

Think about it, hypertonic means more solutes in the fluid. The osmolarity of blood is about 300 mOsm whereas the osmolarity of urine is about 1400 mOsm. Compared to urine, blood is clearly less concentrated.

what is mOsm?

oh and i think i posted the question incorrectly. it should have said why blood is hypertonic to urine

i think u psoted correctly the first time. hyper is more concentrated. hypo is less. blood is less concentrated than urine so its hypotonic to urine

mOsm is 1000th of a mole. Yes it is true that blood contains less solute than urine, therefore blood is HYPOTONIC to urine. Think about it Urine has all the waste that you do not need that you have taken out of processsed food. Therefore of course it will be more concentrated. I hope this helps, Good luck.
