BSS Questions Advice.... yes, they use to be good over the past years... but how about nowadays?
I posted a small inquiry on this earlier, but it might have gotten mixed up in the experiences thread - so I'll just copy/paste that here...
My main concern was that if the BSS still holds up in the 2008/2009 era in that regard.... I haven't ordered usmleworld yet to see how "basic and detailed" the explanations go, as they seem from BSS... I've heard [from others] that they [UW] do give great explanations nonetheless.
If UW world however covers those details better - then BSS probably isn't needed?
I was going to do UW during my last 2 months of prep, but in 1.5-2wks, I'd like to use BSS as a primer... mainly because I don't intend on doing any reading i.e. from Kaplan - just UW/Goljan/FA/High Yield Neuro and Molecular Bio/BRS Physio. I'm taking this in May.
I think there's close to 5,000 questions in BSS spread along 5 system books. 😱
Anyways, I think that BSS was used much more then because usmleworld wasn't around or popular... I searched some old threads here, and many said BSS was surely a nice gem for the same above mentioned reasons. Back then, many used BSS and then followed up with Qbank when there was no usmleworld... arghhh, resources and the things they do to your mind! 🙄
