Hey all,
Picked up a new book at Barnes and Noble recently, I frequently go by the medical section to see if there is anything relating to Pharmacy that might be an interesting read. Usually my search comes up empty, but recently I began reading this new one, Pain Killer by Barry Meier. I have only got into the first few chapters, but I've surmised its about the root causes of the "opioid crisis" and is a pretty good read, so far. It doesn't really point many fingers at Physicians or Pharmacists, so far it seems only towards pharmaceutical companies, take that as you may. It's actually sort of an older book, released in the early 2000's, but it seems pretty relevant still. It seems to talk a lot about OxyContin and doesn't touch a whole lot on other opioids, so far anyway.
Anywho, I've enjoyed reading it so far and thought some of you might find it interesting as well. Feel free to leave your thoughts about the book if you've already read it.
Thanks,
