I am looking for something to prepare for the neurology shelf. It seems that everyone recommends the same books (lange, pretest, blueprints), but then they comment that they really weren't helpful for the test. So, I am looking for some alternatives...

Does anyone have any experience with this book??:

"Ultimate Board Review for Neurology Boards". I realize that it is for neurologists, but perhaps just the relevant chapters would be good.

sorry to piggyback on your thread but does anyone have any recommendations for a neurology book that is 'case based' that would be revelant to a student? textbooks and review books just bores that crap out of me. i liked 'case files for surgery' and i know there is a 'case files for neurology' coming out on 7/1/06. but my neurology rotation is starting 7/5/06 and i would like to start preparing for the rotation at least a week prior to that.

I don't have any experience with that book, but keep in mind that the Neurology boards are the exam we take after 3 years of neurology residency training to get certified to practice neurology. I'm guessing that book has a whole layer of detail that you would never need to know for a 3rd yr med student shelf exam.
