Hi all,

I have a close med school classmate who is serving in mandatory military service between medical school and residency. He's hoping to match into Internal Medicine next year.

With limited internet availability on base, books/printed materials are his best bet to keep his medical knowledge from decaying. What resources would you recommend? I sent him Step Up to Medicine, but as someone who already took step 3, I feel he would be up for something a bit more advanced.

Thanks!

I assume space is at a premium. The Washington Manual (or whatever is being used in its stead these days) may be his best bet. It's a little higher-level than Step Up. Reading through those two resources when he has the time should be enough to keep the knowledge from completely falling out of his head.

Thank you for your suggestions. The Washington Manual, in particular, struck me as a great resource (I might get it myself, actually) and it looks compact.
