yes i am asking this as i am anticipating it will be a question during my interviews...does anyone know a good book they read and relates to the health field and would be a good one to mention at the interview?
thanks

I don't think it necessarily has to be health-related. They just want to see that you have read something and that you have other interests/things you do in your spare time. I know it seems to be a common practice question... but I have not been asked it yet at any of my interviews.

i have been asked this question. pick a book you read recently so you can actually remember what it was about in case one of your interviewers has also read the book. don't say some random book you haven't read just b/c it sounds good b/c of course then the interviewer will have read it and you will be up **** creek w/o a paddle 😱

Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

Me and Marley = Best book ever, especially if you have a dog
But seriously buddy, READ A BOOK! any book! Kind of have doubts about someone who is so shakey about himself he has to ask what a good book is to make him seem informed about the health care system.

you don't even know a book that is health related and you dont care so thats beyond shakiness, i like to be prepared from all aspects, i dont care if u think thats shakiness..

When asked this question during my last interview I mentioned a no-limit hold'em book I read.

I dunno, man. That attitude won't help you. Anyway, the books you read don't have to be health related. I think that would make you less "worldly" if you never read any other kind of literature.

I only read text books, haha

um.. my honest answer would be Choke by Palahniuk, but thats not Health field related... but i think it does speak of my thougth process when i finally decided to go to dental school.. Sick of materialism of the world, tired of being a slave to possession/job, feeling marginalized by society.. ect..

however, dont think thats the sort of attitude i think Adcoms want to hear about.. Not sure what i will mention since in the last couple years have not read much of anything except for text books.. when you're reading so much for school, the last thing i want to do to relax is more reading... anyone agree?

actually im also reading the complete idiots guide to zen living.. not as interesteing as the herpes one, im sure😉
