Hey guys. I need help on 2 questions please!

QR: I know how to set up the equation specified in the first paragraph, but I have no idea what it's trying to explain in the second paragraph or how they derived v=5t. Usually when I see problems like this, they give you either the speed he can run at or the time it takes for him to catch up to the bus, and you solve for one variable or the other...

In the diagrams below, I believe that some of the hydrogens are mislabeled (unless my memory on OC fails me). The "triplet" H in diagram A should be a double-of-doublet since it's split twice, correct? If so, is this considered "triplet" on the DAT? Likewise for the triplet H in diagram B. There's no line of symmetry or anything, so I would guess it's split twice.

From the bus, vf= vi + at. So if the bus starts at 0m/s, the equation just becomes vf=at or vf=5t.

Right, but what exactly is the reasoning for plugging in the velocity of the bus (5t) into the equation vt - 2.5t^2 = 10 when the "v" in that equation is the velocity of the man?

Edit: Nevermind - spent some time on it and figured it out. Thanks a bunch! Seems like a lot more reasoning than would be required on the actual DAT...
