Just took the PAT bootcamp test 6 and scored a 17. Feeling a bit discouraged because that test was very hard in my opinion. How will these results correlate with the real DAT? This score really made me nervous just now! These were my sections:

Keyhole (11/15)
TFE (5/15) * I definitely need to practice more for this section.
Angle ranking (2/15) * caught me by surprise because I usually get 12/15s when I am doing the generators. Before the generators had you pick which was the biggest out of 2 angles, now its all 4 sometimes.
Hole punching (12/15) - made silly mistakes
cube counting (14/15) - stupid error lol
pattern folding (4/15) - idk what the hell this was lol. Compared to the generator it caught me off gaurd.

Any tips on how to learn from my mistakes and get better at pattern folding and angle ranking with the new generator (picking which is the biggest out of 4 angles etc). Idk why im writing this thread. Looking for others who had the same score the first time. I want a 20+ on the real DAT and I am taking my test August 1st. Any tips on how to improve? Should I worry that I scored a 17 on my first practice test? I also had 8 minutes left to go. Are the bootcamp tests harder than the real DAT? My confidence was just thrown out lol.

Scheduled Aug 2nd, I'd say don't be discouraged, just keep practicing with the generators and see how you do on the remaining practice tests/full lengths. Cube counting and hole punching are easy points, so be sure to be a little more careful, the rest are just practice practice practice. Good luck 🙂
Thanks, it just caught me off guard. I know what to focus on now. Have you heard if bootcamp harder than the real PAT?

i think it's pretty common for people to be thrown by their first full PAT test... i got a 16 on my first. it's okay! don't let this initial score discourage you, instead look at it in the positive. at least this was just a practice exam and not the real thing, you have plenty of time to learn from your mistakes. it also helps that PAT is usually the one section you can get much better at in a very short amount of time (relative to other sections).

best of luck, you got this
