Hi! I recently bought bootcamp after hearing wonderful things (I really like it so far!), but I was just wondering how the PAT section compares to the real thing? I've taken a few tests in the sciences, QR, RC, and PAT...but the PAT for me is incredibly hard and I am scoring between 16-18s 🙁 I was using crack dat pat before, which was a lot more doable. Please share your opinions, especially if you have recently taken the DAT. I'm so nervous for this section and my exam is in three weeks!

I haven't taken the real DAT myself (I have mine on Monday!), but from what I have read, bootcamp is generally slightly harder or just around the same as the real DAT. I have been told that the keyhole sections and TFE in particular are usually slightly harder with bootcamp, or again about the same. But you want to do as well on the PAT as possible right?!? I went from getting 18's on the pat to around a 23, so you have hope! Just keep practicing, use the generators, and don't give up.

I also was given the barrons DAT book by one of my friends, and found their advise and workbook style of teaching PAT was great. The book is pretty cheap compared to other DAT prep books. I didn't use that book for any other section though. I recommend getting that to learn some strategies and practice, practice, practice! Good luck!

From what I have heard, BC PAT is harder. Just think of it as practice though and soon your scores will naturally go up! Since I started BC PAT my scores have gone up about 3-4 points! I haven't taken the DAT yet though, but I take it on Tuesday.

Don't focus so much on the estimated scores, they mean essentially nothing at the start. Rarely does anyone start these exams and score well immediately, if that was the case then they wouldn't even need to practice! These are 'practice' tests, meaning you're practicing to improve your skills. If you continue to work hard and study, read the solutions and understand your missteps, practice with the PAT generators daily, and give it your best effort, I promise your score will improve and you'll breeze through the real PAT section. Practice and learn for now, and the scores will come.

Are you able to share your DATBootcamp logn in so I can practice. Sorry if this sounds unfamiliar but some other people have helped each other that way and the outcome are positive. Sometimes we can't afford something and we need the help from other.
If you want to help me, please reply to my message and if not please disregard the message.

good luck with your endeavors!

Bootcamp PAT is most comparable to the real DAT. Crack PAT is a good starting point, but Bootcamp is a better tool. I was getting around a 20 in bootcamp PAT and ended up getting a 22 on the real DAT.

I agree with @ajmcq , Crack PAT is a good starting point but is a little easier than DAT Bootcamp. I was getting consistent 19/20s on BC and like 22s on Crack DAT PAT. Got 23 on the real DAT.

Crack dat PAT is easier than BC. Once you can score in the 20's on CDP you should move on to BC. The practice generators on CDP are helpful, as are the ones in BC. I thought BC was much more useful since it is harder and pushes you more. There were several problems in CDP cube counting that had hidden ("illegal") cubes and cause you to get a wrong answer.

Just curious, what do you mean by "illega"?

Yeah there's one on the third test that really peaved me. Its one where they have cubes connecting others but obscured by one directly in front of it that creates an illusion of it being the same cubes.
