How representative is the bootcamp QR vs Math destroyer? I have timed myself on the first 10 tests in destroyer and on average got about 4-5 wrong. I took the first 3 bootcamp tests and got 20/21/20. But I got about 14 wrong so I think the scoring is very lenient on those. I find myself struggling on the longer to read/solve problems due to timing. I do as suggested, skip. But I'm worried the real DAT will have many of those problems as well. Anyone else here have this experience and has taken the DAT? How'd it go?

Also problems like " What are possible length, width, and height values for a rectangle whose difference between its volume and surface area is 5?" where we are expected to plug and chug numbers until we get the right answer. I find that to be very time consuming

You probably won't get a question like that on the real test.

Math Destroyer is actually very representative! A lot of people on here will probably tell you that it's a lot harder than the real DAT, but I did not think so. I've always been good at math, yet QR was my lowest score on DAT. (Literally the most frustrating thing that has ever happened in my academic life!!! 😛)

So my advice is to go through Destroyer more than once, and don't underestimate the difficulty of DAT QR!

Edit: But don't let me scare you either! It's definitely doable! Just put in the time! 🙂

Math destroyer is definitely the BEST for measuring how well you will do on the QR section. Its the only material I used for it.

I like the Math Destroyer, from what I have heard BC is too hard and not representative of the actual DAT.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm able to get 34-36/40 on Destroyer but it takes me around 60-70 minutes to complete. I have done the first 5 Destroyer tests and never finish close to 45 minutes. Are the math destroyer tests suppose to be finished in 45 minutes?

^^^ yes, the key to this section is timing! I went through all tests untimed first to learn the material. Tests 11 and 12 literally took me about 4 hours to go over. I went through them again timed and was able to average 35-36/40 on each test

Thanks for the quick feedback PocketRocket, looks like I still have my work cut out for me!

I guess I'll focus more on timing the 2nd time through, starting to feel the crunch!

Granted timing is important on the QR section of the DAT, but focus on learning shortcuts and doing ALL the problems in the book, I can assure you all the time in the world will not help if you don't know how to solve the problem . You will pick up speed the more problems you solve.

Good luck you.
