Hey guys! I would like to know how everyone is doing on the real DAT compared to the bootcamp practice exams. Please share your BC scores and your DAT scores here, if you don't mind. I hear the BC is harder than the real one and would like to see how accurate that it.

I just took my dat yesterday, I did better in every category than I ever did on bootcamp. Bootcamp practice sections are a great idea to go all the way through, even if it's not doing entire practice exams at one time. Something to note, if you don't understand a question, right or wrong, go into a book or find videos online that teach you about that topic

Do not just look at the question explanation and leave it at that. The DAT will give you some easy questions, but it will also give you questions you need to think through, if you have the tools from going over specific topics you'll be much more prepared than if you just memorized the question explanation.

Posted this on another forum but applies here:

What's up all, I recently took the DAT (08/07/2017 8:00 am) and did fairly well (21 AA 20 TS 23 PAT). Along with Destroyer, I used Bootcamp to prepare for the test, studied around 40-45 hours a week for 2.5 months. I will first provide all 5 of my BC test scores, with section averages, and then my real DAT score. Overall, I thought the questions were comparable to Bootcamp, but the depth of Destroyer problems makes them a highly valuable review.

BOOTCAMP:
BIO - 25 | 22 | 18 | 22 | 21 AVG - 21.6
GC - 21 | 19 | 22 | 24 | 21 AVG - 21.4
OC - 19 | 19 | 18 | 22 | 20 AVG - 19.6
RC - 19 | 21 | 23 | 24 | 22 AVG - 21.8
PAT - 22 | 24 | 25 | 23 | 23 AVG - 23.4
QR - 20 | 22 | 24 | 20 | 20 AVG - 21.2

REAL DAT:
BIO - 20
GC - 19
OC - 21
RC - 22
PAT - 23
QR - 21

I took the DAT today.
I have also heard that Bootcamp is more difficult.
BC Average:
BIO- 23
GC- 23
OC- 24
PAT- 19
RC- 18
QR- 18

Real DAT:
BIO- 16
GC- 21
OC- 21
PAT- 22
RC- 18
QR- 16

I felt that the BIO section on the real DAT had some topics that I was not very familiar with, and was heavy on topics that did not come up often on BC. Prior to taking the DAT, I expected myself to score similarly to how I did on BC. Even when I took the 2009 Sample DAT, I scored similarly to my BC average for BIO, GC, OC, and nothing below 21 for PAT, RC, and QR.

I feel that some questions on the 2007 and 2009 DAT showed up on BC. and Some questions repeated on BC. If I could start studying all over again, I would probably take the 2007 DAT a month before the DAT, and take the 2009 two weeks before the DAT.

I used BC and Destroyer. While I think BC is a great resource, and Destroyer was overwhelming but still great, I should have probably used other resources too.

I am definitely disappointed with my scores because I had predicted higher. With these scores I'd be surprised to get any interviews. But hoping for the best. Good luck!

Don't be all to discouraged, sometimes you just get a really hard sections (your Bio seemed like it was hard). It happens and adcoms know. BC and Destroyer is exactly what i used and it did just fine, maybe add Kaplan prep if anything.

Did you do all the work in the DAT Destroyer and were you using a current version? What is your science GPA?

I did use destroyer but only once and used it more to see what I don't know and study more on the topics that I didn't know.

My science GPA is 3.65.

I will definitely use Destroyer more next time.

I feel confident had you used the Destroyer your scores would have been higher. Feel free to contact me and I will guide you in your retake.
