If you were given the boot from NYU in your 3rd or 4th year or any dental school, how would you ever pay back your loans? I believe student loans can't be written off through bankruptcy. It seems like a big gamble to me. I don't see myself being happy doing anything else, so I guess it's worth it. What are your thoughts?

Don't fail your classes? It's not like they have a lottery at the end of the year and if your number gets drawn you're out...

hmmm... i don't see it as a gamble. it's not really the same as walking up to the roullette table. i'd say you'd have to be a grade A mess up to be dismissed from d school.

what if you were given the boot because you're not good with your hands? There are all kinds of things that can happen to you that are out of your control.

Hand skill is not out of your control, it's something you can actively improve.

Now if your hand gets crushed in a tragic, butter churning acceident, that's a different story, but I think they give loan forgiveness for that kind of thing.

True. But some people just don't have any hand-eye coordination. My dentist told me half of his class at UF were hack dentists.

It might be better not to take that risk and put yourself in debt. Dont go to Dental School.

You're right. Why don't I become an engineer so I can be even more miserable.

I don't get the point of this thread, we work this hard getting in and stressing out over it, and then you're literally going to work THAT much HARDER trying to get yourself kicked out???
