Borat

I've seen that ads but I just don't know enough about the movie. It will probably be a renter for me.

Have you ever watched the Ali G show? Borat is a character on it. He is from Kazakastan, thats probably thewrong spelling, and he goes around as a journalist in america asking silly questions or doing silly stuff that he claims is native to kazakastan. It's pretty funny sometimes, other times not.

maybe. as im reading this that preview show on comedy central is on

I want to see it but I have to say I would be pretty angry if I was from Kazakhstan.

It just gained it independence in 1991 and very few Americans remember that people from "over there", including all the " 'stans" are normal cats like you and me. I am certain that Joe Q. public will realize it is a spoof but it certainly wont help the image of the country.

I might be a little sensitive as I have a large group of friends from Eastern/Central Europe and they get some of the most ignorant questions you could possible imagine. For example, "What is Czechoslovakia like?" (Needless to say Czech Republic and Slovakia are 2 separate countries for nearly 15 years), "So are you a Communist?" Things like that. Americans arent too aware of geography.

That said, I bet it will be hilarious.
