I haven't really heard anyone describe Boston U? It seems like there are hardly any posts on Boston U? If someone could elaborate upon the school whether they attend that school or not would be appreciated. I checked the archives as well and there wasn't any significant reports concerning the school.
I attened BU back in 94-95, the school and cost of living was very expensive back then... not to mention now. I have heard it has been thru major renovation lately and have added new high tech equipments. The Labs were smaller back then and there was always problems signing in time to use it. As of getting in it is very easy and does not require very high GPA or DAT scores. But they do have high turnover/ drop out rate.
I'm at BU and so far it's a great school. Very friendly and courteous but that's almost at every school.
We have 115 students I believe but the drop might be due to the economy. In 2001-2002 the economy was much worse so a lot people possibly applied. In 2000-2001 2178 applied and 117 matriculated. If you look at the AADSAS numbers the proportions should be the same.

117 isnt that many students, most classses have around 100...while NYU is over 200 students.
I don't believe a lot of people get kicked out of BU...could be wrong though.
As I was told by the promotions committee, who decide whether you're promoted to DMD 2, students are allowed to have 1 D during the whole academic year for them to get promoted. Here is where I'm not sure exactly of the numbers...if you have more than 1 D or any F's up to 5 (don't remember) you repeat the year. Anything above 5 is dismissal from the school.

PashaJ, if I am correct you are at BU, right? I was wondering if you can help me out? I was on BU waiting list for 2003, but as I said class was full. Anyhow, do you think they would accept me this year because I was on their waiting list last year? Or do you think my chances are higher? Mrs. Dinn iniformed me that they don't require me to come for an interview, since they will use my last year's file. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
As long as you've made some improvement to your application your chances are always higher. Hopefully you've done something different maybe retook the DAT or classes. Truthfully you're at a higher advantage now because you're known to the staff. Periodically calling will help.
Good luck and you're not missing much...we have our first exam tomorrow (Anatomy).

Anything over 70 is A LOT of students. Most schools keep it under that range.
