For the Essay.......can we have more than 500 words (~750) but under 5000 characters? The online app. seems to accept my essay but I still paranoid !!

I'm not aware of a 5000 character limit. The prompt says "please write a 250-500 word reflection on the concept of professionalism." Where within the interval 250-500 does 750 fall?

write as much as you feel as you need to write. the web form will accept up to 5000 characters. this is because they give us a little elbow room by estimating the typical word to have 10 letters. of course, that's a very generous estimate!

somehow I do not think a 500+ word response will do significant harm to your application. It is doubtful that they have word-checking mechanism and give you boo-boo points for going over it. I feel staying within the 5000 character limitation is reasonable enough. Of course, perhaps my stance is biased, as my own (submitted) response is 620 words long!
