I know it's still a long time until May 15, but I was wondering if you guys could weigh in on what you think of BU and Georgetown and which one you would choose. Boston vs DC? BU versus Georgetown?

BU has better research opportunities, and many of the profs there collaborate with Harvard, Tufts, etc., so you'll have many more options.
That said, Gtown is in a better part of its respective metropolitan area. But Boston rocks.
In sum: I wish I was faced with this difficult decision.

G'town. And not just because I'm an alum. 😉

Seriously, DC is a world capital, not just a major city. The cost of living is about the same, but the kinds of experiences you can have beyond medical education are worlds apart.

Georgetown.....

P-sycho. BU. hello! Boston ROCKS. Plus Gtown is going downhill (and is pretentious), but BU is so down to earth and really engages the boston community and provides so many opportunities for students. That said, if you are interested in medical school to live and study in a pristine environment, GT might be for you, BU is more about the real world.

But DC is so awesome.

I miss it so much. (tear, tear.)

I drove down last week for a day trip. I stomped around campus, saw the new theatre, dorm, and reception/dining hall, chatted with some friends in the faculty, and then had dinner at Filomena before driving home. 8.5 hours in the car and major butt-crampage from sitting down for so long, but it was worth it.

It's a tough decision for me. I'm also a Georgetown alum, and I loved going to school there. But I really liked BU when I went for the interview. And I've never lived in Boston before.

ive lived in both cities. i think g-town is a great school and so is bu. you'll get the same opportunities at both schools. boston as a city can be a bit harsh to live in. g-town is a little more fun in my opinion. also, g-town could be a better place to spend the next 4 years of your life. I dunno. id pick g town if I could. don't under-estimate familiarity in your quality of life.
