just got my brand new master cardio black ed.. sweet lookin !! but the metal parts are WAY too tight, and the earpieces push into my ears too hard. what can i do? shoujld i just keep on pullin the metals away from each other ?

i dont kno abt your problem..but i have a problem too.. I got a harvey elite welch allyn steth..and i got a 22 incher...it seems kinda short....is it significant where it will affect anything..or u think i can get away with it...im not that tall ..i dont kno if that matters...lemme kno what you guys think..thanks

i've noticed this problem too. but as far as i know it's one-size fits all as far as the ear piece is concerned... maybe ask the rep next time they come by.

in order to fix the earpieces, just stretch them outward. they are meant to move.

try the Directions. 😀 They instruct you to grip the metal portion of the tubes and gently push outward until the desired tension is reached. To increase it, pull inward.

Yeah, you are supposed to be able to pull them out a bit. My earpieces hurt my ears and last year a 4th yr told me to just get used to it. You can get softer earpieces, which mine are, but they do still hurt. Oh well.

My Littman STC Cardiology stethoscope was super tight when it came out of the box, really quite painful on the ears. You have to pull the earpieces far, far apart repeatedly until the spring mechanism finally relaxes a bit. Now I've got them at exactly the right setting and they don't hurt at all.

heh... yeah readin the manual could've helped.. 🙂 but anyway, i think it'll take some time for the spring to get looser. it's all good

btw, if u guys havent bought a stet, def get the best 1 u can. i checked out about 4 scopes in varying prices & there is night&day diff. i actually heard a S4 today while i was lucky to hear ANYTHING w/ others. 😎

I also have the Littman Master Cardiology - great investment! I had to stretch the earpieces out a little, but by the 2nd or 3rd week they were fitting perfectly. Start off with the S3 and S4 heart sounds, then the loud IV/VI murmurs, and eventually you'll be hearing the II/VIs, clicks, rubs, etc. 🙂
