What to expect?

Easy stuff like medial lemniscus, cerebellar peduncles.

or crazy stuff like nucleus solitareous, nucleus ambigous, vestibular nuclei 😱, area of supply of the vertebral artery (PICA i can understand)

What other imaging studies? I know CT abdomen, Head angio, Willis's circle etc.

thanks

cranial nerve exits on brainstem

arteriole territories in brain.

know your basic anatomy but probably not as much into nitpicky specifics like where each tractg runs or obscure nuclei

Where's the best place to study brain slices /CT's?

Webpath ,HY Nueuro or xyz?

Thanks!

Hey there,

do you think first aid is enough in terms of the neuro details we need to know for the exam?

seeing that that site is an atlas with tons of images, which images did people find the most useful/high yield for step 1 studying?

I had 3-4 brainstem q's on my test last year, from what I remember, 2 were disease related questions...as to what are of brain stem is the pathology, and the other 2 were more identification. I xeroxed the high yield neuro brainstem pics (the most pertinent) and put them in my First Aid neuro section (in a 3-ring binder). Just memorize the main structures and have some idea as to what pathways are involved and those questions will be easy. I remember being happy that I didn't completely waste my time with memorizing those.
