I am a med student and I have heard a lot about PM&R recently and it sounds like a really rewarding area of medicine. However, even after reading through all the sticky notes and articles about the field, I still don't have a clear idea of what a PM&R physician's practice is like. I would appreciate it if someone who has experience in the field could help me understand how PM&R physicians spend their day. What are the "bread and butter" cases (for lack of a better term), what are the best parts about the field and what are some possible drawbacks? I would love to hear from people why they chose to go into PM&R and maybe what else they were considering and how they made their choice. Thanks so much.

if you're a med student in seattle I'm guessing you're at Univ of Wash? Considering it's a top program why don't you head on over to their PM&R department and do some shadowing/rotation?
That would be your best bet for truly getting a feel of the field.
