Materials:
KBB- I used this for bio before anything. I liked it. It gave me a great foundtaion of bio. I didnt use that back whatsoever. I solely used it for biology notes.

Bangitys notes- God, these were a life saver. Use these if you can. I think I would have goten a 15 without it.

Chads- Only used it for gen chem. Your dumb if you dont. I kinda wish I used them for orgo too just so I could have had my 25.

CDP- only way to go on PAT

Achiever- Wasnt too much harder like everyone said. My PAT went up like 5 points, RC 5, but Bio, gen chem, and orgo only like 2 or so.

Topscore- About a point lower on topscore than the regulars. I did better on topscore bio though 🙁

DATqvault- consistantly around where I would get on everything. Use this.

Destroyer- Must for ochem, recommend it for gen chem. I wish I used it for bio. Maybe this was what I was missing. I wish somewhere there were bio lectures since through lecture is how I learn 100x better.

PAT: Obviously used CDP. I felt that it was definitely on par with the real thing. Maybe even a bit harder. On CDP I was scoring between 20-22 every time. I felt that my test was easier then I had anticipated.

Keyholes- I was usually good at these, averaged around 12-14 on my CDP. I knew I would be solid on this section. I got to the first question, most random intricate shape ever. After that it was smooth sailing.
TFE- this is one of the sections I dreaded the most usually but I got good at it. I usually get around 10 right. I felt the real DAT was easier, probably got around 12-13.
Angles- My worst section by far. I did however feel this was easier on the real DAT. Probably got 10 or so.

Hole Punching- This and cubes are my two strongest sections. Without a double at least 14 right. I dont use paper, I can just visualize it. There were no crazy ones, I probably had 2 half punches maybe. No triples or quarters. I little bit easier than CDP.

Cubes- Breezed through. No optical illusions. Very straight forward. At least 14 right again. Assuming no dumb mistakes

Pattern folding- probably my second weakest. I felt that it was definitely easier on the real thing. I would get maybe 8 right on CDP. Definitely did better ont he real thing.

QRT- I didnt study at all. Have always been really gifted in math. Got right where I wanted. Not complaining.

RC- Passages were pretty straight forward, at least 90% search and destroy. Dont think I got to the last 4 questions or so. I really dont know why this is even on the DAT. Has no correlation to your comprehension level lol.

Biology- Oh god. I knew I was gonna do bad. Was going to be happy if I scored an 18, estatic for a 19. Apparently I couldnt even hit that. I open up my exam, first question "Microarray" im like, what? Second question? Another lab technique. Great way to open my exam. I really cant believe I got a 17. I hope I dont have to retake b/c of this.

GC- My last 2 practice qvaults I scored 24's. I was hoping to get around that. 21, pretty satisfied. A lot of straight forward basic math questions. More of those than theory.

OC- I TA'd it for 2 semesters so i knew my stuff. All I did was destroyer. Master that and your golden. Not much popped up that I cant recall seeing from there. I wish I knew which ones I got wrong. I know I had 2 lab questions again (wtf is up with lab questions).

qvaults-
Bio- 18/18/18/18/18/18/18/19 (lol)
OC- 24/20/20/19/20/20/18/19/19
QRT- 22/19/22/22/22/20
GC- 18/17/19/22/20/20/19/20/24/24

CDP- 18/19/20/21/22/21/22

Ill post achiever in a bit.

The word on the street is that the bio exam you took was very hard. That sucks. Did you also have the question about dinosaurs? (lol, wtf?)

If you asked me, I'd say those scores will get you in somewhere. If you don't get interviews, it's because of the bio!

Great job! I'm a bio major but I haven't taken genetics or microbiology yet. I have been concentrating on Gen chem, math and PAT for the past 3 weeks. I've only touched on Bio so far......it's time to kick it into high gear now.....exam in 6 weeks!

Congrats on your good scores!

Hey, I think you did well! Your AA is above most average acceptances and yeah a 17 on Bio isn't might have been what you wanted, but its definitely not bad! I'm sure adcoms know that it is one of the harder sections because of the randomness. I don't think you'll need to retake. It's not like everything was fine across the board and you got a 15 on bio. Don't worry and good luck!! Just be happy to have it done and over with!

It's too bad that I won't be getting any cigars though

Last year I took the exam, they had questions on which company synthesized the first DNA. I was about to punch the computer...
