I have a bridge anchored on what was a structurally sound tooth s/p root canal done about 4-5 yrs ago. Last fall, I had a molar behind that root canal tooth that itself required a root canal. A crown was placed on it that the dentist admits fits imperfectly. He spontaneously offers to redo the crown at no cost. The bridge has now come loose, because there is decay and an abscess in/under the tooth that abuts the crown. Would it be reasonable to ask for not just the crown at no cost but also the two implants that are now being recommended to me with the premature loss of the bridge (anchor)? Fundamentally, my question is - Is the decay/abscess in the abutting tooth likely due to the imperfectly fit crown?
