Dear Colleagues,
I was wondering if any one know about the IM program in this hospital. for eg,
1. do you get to do procedures in this tertiary hospital
2. will you be prepared once you get out.
3. chances of getting into a GI fellowship.

Thanks for your advice.

Hi, I have had the pleasure of working with the BWH IM residents at Faulkner (BWH community affiliate, shared by Harvard and Tufts) and I don't think you'll find a better program full of high quality residents and supportive faculty anywhere. It's just a shame I don't have the stats to apply there, if you got an interview, congrats!!
1)I don't know about availability of procedures, though I'd imagine exposure would be above average at BWH.
2)based on the residents I know, yes, absolutely.
3) excellent, one of my residents from FICU is going to MGH for GI, and my main resident from my Medicine clerkship is applying now for GI (he's PGY-3
and going to take a year off in between); I think he wants to go to BIDMC. He should do well IMO, but both residents remarked that they would have liked more GI exposure during their 3 years at BWH.

Overall, I think it's one of the best programs out there in IM. Good luck!
