you will have to ask permission to take pictures, it is not a sightseeing tour and you are not a tourist.
that sounds ridiculous. if they're giving you a tour of the school, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to at least take pictures of the campus or something.
you can take all facade pictures from curbside you want. Once you enter professional medical building there are all kinds of HIPAA privacy rules that might apply.that sounds ridiculous. if they're giving you a tour of the school, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to at least take pictures of the campus or something.

Lol... The op didn't say "can I take pictures when I am touring, chairside, inside the clinic." obviously, the op wouldn't be taking pictures of patients inside student operatories or in the waiting room. To the op: feel free to take as many pics of the campus that you want. I think it's hilarious when people make HIPAA police statements .

Yeah, HIPAA only applies to protected health information, such as a person's medical history, social security number, personal identifiers, full face pictures, contact information, etc. It doesn't have anything to do with the facility or buildings. Just don't take a picture of patients in the clinic and you should be fine.
I would probably only take pictures on the actual student tour though. Any time that administrators or professors are present is probably an inappropriate time to break out the camera.
I brought a camera to a bunch of my interviews. And I definitely took pics of the building, the class rooms, and the clinic (I didn't take photos of patients, but there may have been other students in the background). It helped me remember what the campus was like. I should have taken more.

exactly. sticking a camera in front of a patient in the chair wasn't quite the vision that popped into my head when i read the post the first time.

she obviously doesn't know what she's talking about... but anyways to the OP... feel free to take pics of the campus... and i think it would be helpful if you could post up the pics on sdn too so that students who are applying may kno wat the diff campuses look like. 🙂 there was a thread last cycle of some ppl who did it... so feel free to add your own interview pics. 🙂
