Brown peds

*L-O-V-E-D* it! Had a wonderful interview and thought that it was well run. Every resident I ran in to said glowing things (even when they were tired and post-call). It's small, and tends to compete with Boston (close proximity), but I think it is a diamond in the rough. Adam Pallant (the director) also seemed like a fantastic guy. I'm ranking it VERY high (top 3).

I will also second the opinion that Brown was a fantastic place. I was very impressed with Dr. Pallant, the camaraderie between attendings and housestaff, and the physical structure of the hospital. Brown also had the best integration between technology and patient care that I have seen at my 8 interviews so far. There are electronic orders, labs, meds, and imaging. You can put in orders and look at images from the call room, and above all, the sign-out sheet is linked to the orders/lab results such that anything that comes back during the day or is ordered is automatically placed on the sign-out sheet. While it does compete with Boston and Yale, I think that the residents get a good depth and breadth and enjoy doing so (lots of autonomy).

Thanks! I think Boston is obviously a bigger/better place rep-wise, but I thought Brown was fairly equivalent to say, Yale, and better than Cornell, from the places I went to....any opinions?

thanks again
