BRS Books

LOL! Well, not studying, but I am getting a jump on buying books... I figure there's less of a demand right now than there will be in the fall.

But I've been reading (NOT studying) medical textbooks since I was practically a kid... I know. I'm sick.

Unless you know for sure what books you need, you might want to hold off. Profs "assign" all sorts of reading from books you don't need to buy, or that are on reserve in the library or are available online. When you're living on loans, you'd rather spend that $85 on groceries. See if you can get in contact with any current M1s or M2s at the school you're headed to and see what you really need. Also, a lot of people will be selling the essential texts used once their done with them.

It's probably too early. By now it's possible most of the good basic science BRS books were already snatched up by the current MS-IIs, who will be using them until Step 1. They may be looking to unload them right afterwards (so by June/July).

I bought pretty much every book I need for Step 1 between may-june for around $100. Use E-bay and Amazon. By that point all the second years already have their books and very few first years are in the market.

Yeah, don't bother now --- I wasted a lot of money during MS1 buying board review books that I didn't even use.
