if bryophyta are found in moist env.....why are they found in the tundra? where thereis very lil rainfall

Tundra has alot of ice, so during the summer the surface will thaw out which is enough for bryophytes to grow on...but I'm guessing mainly during summer and very few can survive during other seasons.
