BU Interview Advice

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
BU Interview is really laid back. I didn't believe it when other students said it, but it's more of a conversation than an interview. So don't stress, and just be yourself.

did you prepare for the questions in advance - can you confirm some of the questions in that link/sdn feedback? thanks 🙂

Literally I was not asked a single question specifically about dentistry.

There is no "where do you think the field of dentistry is headed in the next 20 years"... at the most you're gonna get a question like "so can you tell me about the research you did as an undergrad?"

BU honestly...HONESTLY...has the most laid back interview environment that is even possible.

All they want to know is that you will be a nice, relatively laid back dentist, who is capable of communicating and making a connection with someone.

if thats the only case, how are they able to cut half of their interviewees :/

oh wow it has already been a year since last year's interviews began, how the time has passed 😱

It is very relaxed. Just be yourself and have a conversation to your interviewer.

At my interview, we talked about the old business my friends and I owned and some bits about traveling in China. Had a few laughs.

Show interest in the school even after the interview with any new grades, involvements, etc. Of course, follow up interview thank you letter.

Good luck :x!

Sowiee, normally I am not at liberty to disclose interview questions, but this time I really can't coz seriously, I was not asked a single question... and I ended up doing all the talking and asking questions.

I don't think they asked me a single question about dentistry. I sat down, my interviewer was eating his lunch and looking at my app. Took a quick glance, said everything looks good, closed my file, and then we just started talking about random things like college football, music, and some random stories here and there.

They pretty much want to see if you're capable of having a conversation. Just don't be awkward or weird and you'll most likely get in with decent stats.
