I am just accepted to BU.
I don't know when I should start living in Boston.
the school will start Aug 1st. is it the day of orientation?
Should I call the financial aid office soon to take care of loan ASAP?
are dorms still available?

Thank you.

Congrats on the acceptance.

BU still hasnt sent us the official academic calender, so Im not exactly sure what day classes begin.

As far as housing, BU doesnt have dorms, so you will have to find housing on your own. Im guessing that you arent doing EXCEL, so in that case, it may be wise to come to Boston in advance to try and find a place to live. If you are looking for a roommate, you can visit the BU website and fill out some sort of roommate matching form.

do you know if we have to apply early for EXCEL program, or it is pre-selected?

Excel is optional, so you can do it if you want to.

I think the deadline has passed, but you still may be able to get in if they can accomodate you. Give them a call if you are interested in doing it.

hi all BU future classmates
I was wondering if anyone knew if they are still accepting ppl for the Excel program? I was going to call tomorrow and try to get a spot inside the program. This way would be great for me to find housing while getting used to the environment.

let me know please. excited to see ppl

Toodles

I'd recommend doing Excel if you can because it allows you to do a few things before school starts:

1) Find a place to live
2) Get to know your classmates
3) Learn the city

When school does finally start, you will be comfortable with your environment and ready to focus on school.

Plus, waiting for school to start is a pain in the butt, I just want to start doing something.

I was under the impression that Excel deadline was over, but bottomline is that BU makes money off of it, so they may as well allow more people to join. Good luck.

Approx. how many people do the Excel program? Just curious

Not exactly sure where I read this, but I think the number is around 35 or so.
