BU vs GWU

Pros

• Higher ranked
• Seems to emphasize research over primary care

Cons

• Expensive (also a con for GWU)
• Not sure if they have a good public health program (so maybe I don't want to do MPH with them)
• Seems more competitive

George Washington University School of Medicine
Pros

• Also has a good public health program
• Focus on primary care
• Like the student atmosphere more

Cons

• Expensive (also a con for BU)
• Lower ranked

Summary: I'm going to have to take out loans either way. I'm on 2 waitlists for sure (most likely 3 since UCLA has given out their acceptances). I think what's holding me back in choosing GWU over BU is how BU is ranked higher, which would give me an edge in residency. Ideally, I'd like to match in CA but I'm not sure how feasible that is with these schools. Any advice/thoughts are much appreciated.

You can match back to CA from either of those schools.

Thank you for affirming this. GWU is where I would like to be. So unless I'm getting off some waitlists, GWU it is.
