Anyone have experience encountering bubonic plague?
Is it at all possible this could be a case/is it worth Yersinia Pestis blood test/labs? Case:
-returned from Peru 10 days ago where there have been outbreaks reported by WHO August 2010
-otherwise healthy, but while in Peru experienced symmetrically enlarged cervical lymph nodes (very prominent at the time, but now mostly diminished) and presently experiencing symmetrically enlarged axillary lymph nodes (very prominent, tender; present for about 14 days, although currently somewhat diminished in size)
-no current temperature
-severe headaches about 14-16 days ago with nausea, temperature at the time unknown (or simply due to altitude?)
-extremely dry/peeling/chapped hands, including front and back sides of fingers + palms; also occasional dry, peeling skin on torso and limbs (or simply due to extremely dry conditions during Peru's winter season?)
Any input/insight would be great, if anyone has any thoughts. Thanks.
