Yep, I was inspired by the medical school thread and my lack of budgeting habits.

How much do you spend on everything?

Rent + utilities:
Food:
Transportation:
School Expenses [Books, etc]:
Necessary Personal Expenses [cellphone, clothes, medicine, etc]:
Unnecessary Personal Expenses [movies, bar nights, etc.]:
Anything else:

(Stole the awesome template.)

Also, are you taking out loans for these? Working? What would you estimate your monthly/yearly spending is?

I'm trying to cut mine down, because I've run into the realization that budgeting is actually NECESSARY in life--and I'm broke. :lame:

Yes, I was wondering the same thing...guess I should edit this.

They do tend to be more mutually exclusive when you're broke and your friends have rich parents.

per month, in New York:

Rent + utilities: $0 [RA = free housing]
Food: $100 [again, RA = free food also]
Transportation: $170
School Expenses [Books, etc]: $100
Necessary Personal Expenses [cellphone, clothes, medicine, etc]: $100
Unnecessary Personal Expenses [movies, bar nights, swords, etc.]: $150
Anything else: $30

-----------------------------------------
Total: ~$650/month

if you're exceeding your budget, you should buy less swords.
