I originally thought tuition increase was 10% over 5 years but its 10% every year!
As an international student I wont be getting resident tuition after 1st year which means after 4 years my debt from tuition would be very close to NYU's (300k). A lot of students I talked to said they chose buff for its cost so at this cost... is buff better choice compared to other private schools?

Still, Buffalo's COL far less than that of NYU's. Factor that into your financial calculations.

300k for NYU? Maybe like 10 years ago. You're looking at anywhere between 400k-500k for NYU, maybe more by the time you graduate because of the yearly tuition increases.

Just tuition which is 75~77k so ~ 300k. of course with living cost it will be around 450k.

I had nyu as comparison bc it's considered to be one of the most expensive school where BUF used to be a really cheap school even for oos.

How are you determining that it's 10% every year?

A) that is not what the board has stated in its plan.

B) no one on this site is on the board and can know what will happen from year to year with tuition.

I might be wrong but they said tuition will increase by 10% every year for 5 years. Makes sense since tuition last year was 55k and this year its 63k. I heard it during the interview...

Yes. Currently the plan is that out of state goes up 10% per year for out of state and 9% for in state.

This plan started in 2011 and is slated to last 5 years. What happens after that 5 years is up is only speculation.

Thanks foe clearing that up. I didn't know that it started in 2011. So it would be around 70k a year

The cost of living is just as important as the tuition itself. It is the cost of attendance that truly matters, especially for a big city like NYC.
