Hello my Colleagues, I have just started my surgical career in Germany, and today a sister had asked me whether to continue a patient on Buscopan after her Cholecystectomy or not and I could not answer her, can any one help?

Thanks

we don't use this in america. it's apparently butylscopolamine and is used for abdominal cramping. doesn't seem to make sense to use it after removing a gallbladder for colic since that should have taken care of things.

This is an antispasmodic drug generally prescribed for biliary/intestinal colics. No use continuing it once gall bladder is out
