I am trying to figure out my schedule for the year. Any ideas of which month is generally the busiest for interviews when applying in child neurology (i.e., ERAS for peds. + SF Match for child neuro.)?
Thanks!

Sorry, can't answer your question definitively, but I remember seeing child applicants at Hopkins and Rochester in the very beginning of the year and unless I'm imagining things, UCSF in January and Wash U in December.

You might want to investigate which programs have joint peds/child neurology/neurodevelopmental disabilities programs - sometimes you can interview for the programs on consecutive days and save travel expenses. Our program is busiest for joint program applicants in late October and November. There is not a separate fee for checking out NDD programs, which may be more in line with your clinical interests. Both NDD and CN are through the SF match and peds is through ERAS, the CN and NDD matches are named at least 1-2 months earlier than the peds matches so you can plan your peds rank list. Hope this helps -

Does anyone know of a centralized source of information for child neurology programs? The closest I've come is the SF match directory, which doesn't contain an application due date or even a website for many programs. Interview dates are tough to find, as are any sort of program reviews/comments from past applicants. I know some sort of directory is supposed to become available on the CNS website, but it isn't up yet...

There may not be one given the size of the residency/number of applicants, but any additional information would be helpful...

I agree - I've had several med students ask me about the Child Neuro pathways and I'm at a loss to tell them of a cohesive repository of info regarding it... You'd think with such low numbers and such high public demand that the PDs of these programs would "advertise" more.

Hi all, I'm a first year peds neuro resident. A few things: I think like everything else, FRIEDA is a pretty good place to start. I haven't used the SF match directory in a few years, but I thought those two sources were sufficient when I applied three years ago. As far as due dates are concerned, I just went by what the SF Match website said in terms of when to get the application in which was by the end of August, if I remember correctly. However, I knew applicants that did it up until the end of September and had no problems.

My interviews were between the end of October through the first week of January. But mostly in late Nov through mid December.

If you search, there should be some old threads, but the information is actually still pertinent.

That worked wonders for me. 415-447-0350 They will give you a log on for the program directory. The program directory still doesn't have all the info, but you at least get a reliable list of actual programs that you can then scout out.
I couldn't believe how hard it was to get to a list of CN programs, until I found out this key piece of info.
