Someone here (I forget who, sorry) mentioned having a business card for national meetings to give to recruiters and such. Seems like a good idea to me; I'm hoping to talk to companies and get my foot in a few doors while I'm in San Francisco.

What kind of information would you put on this? Seeing as I don't have a company nor a title, it might appear embarrassingly empty.

Suggestions?

K.I.S.S.

Name, phone number, email address (address optional) and possibly the school and expected graduation year.

Nothing else is really needed, imo.

Thanks for the example, that helps a lot.

Is yours just plain white? School logo? Anything?

Mine have the UF school seal and University of Florida. This has an underline, then my personal info.

Dana Groulx
PharmD Candidate
College of Pharmacy

Address is to the bottom left. Phone and email to the bottom right.

Oh, they are in blue ink since UF is orange & blue.

ASP has been printing them for students for several years at UF, so once the template was made they could bulk order for cheap.

PharmD Candidate is reserved for students who have started their rotations, FYI. Trust me there are some people out there who get real picky (or just plain laugh) when a 1st or 2nd year puts that on your card.

That was a little controversial at our school since students were using Pharm.D. candidate in their business cards and mass e-mails. Mostly Ph.D. students were complaining because Ph.D. candidate title is reserved for when the student has completed all the didactic coursework requirements and passed their prerequisite exams. With Pharm.D. candidate, that's usually reserved for 4th years who've completed all their coursework required for graduation and simply doing experiential learning (rotations).

To resolve it, we just go by APhA's recommendation, so all students have "Student Pharmacist" on their name tags on our lab coats and encoursaged to use that title in our mass e-mails and business cards.
