has anybody here attended the "mini mba" course that the asa offers over four weekends in houston ?
what are your thoughts on obtaining " business sense" or at least the language (picture dilbert's boss in the or....)

I havent done any of these mini MBA courses, but I did take a year off and got an MBA inbetween intern year and CA-1. I really cant say if it was worth it, ask me again in 5-10 years and I hope I can say yes. What I can say, is that I now look at things very differently than I did before, and I can only assume that any additional knowledge, in any field, should be helpful and desirable.

I think getting an MBA is overkill. For the vast majority of what we are doing, it's unnecessary. However, if you are completely 'illiterate' in regards to business sense then it's appropriate. Look you are a DOCTOR you can in my opinion learn the 'basic' via books, internet, talking to people...my two cents.

I think it's overkill if you are just looking for some "business sense".

I think that if you want to be a real player, then an MBA is invaluable.
