Ok, I need to hear what you guys think...

Should I work my arse off for the next month to study for the DAT and apply in September if I have...

3.12 gpa across the board
a year of research experience
and i'm not scheduled to graduate till 2007?

It's just that I'm getting old for undergrad (I had taken 2 years off to work as a paralegal), and if I can pull off good DAT grades, do I have a chance for

Loma Linda
UMDNJ
UOP
NYU
Columbia
Temple

that late in the game??

I appreciate your insights!

Congrats to all of you who are on your way to being part of the classes of 2009 & '10!

NYU requires a 3.5 if you're not getting a Bachelors. So you can cross them off the list.

Best for you to do is call each of the schools and ask to see how not getting a bachelors will specifically affect you. Successful no-bachelor applicants generally are very strong...

Apply now and take the dat in a month, that would increase your chances ten fold. And yes if you get a 21-22 you will get in. degree or no degree who cares.
Add some schools to your list though if you want to increase your chances. Good luck

A 3.12 gpa seems a little low to be considered for matriculation w/o a bachelor's degree. Only because it seems more than likely that your current gpa will have gone down if you did finish all the classes required for graduation (since those classes might be harder than the classes that caused you to get 3.12 in the first place). Adcoms, in accepting a student w/o a bachelor's degree and with only a 3.12, is in effect accepting a student with less than 3.0 but with a bachelor's degree (and they don't do this too often).

Thanks for the input, I hadnt looked at it that way. Actually, since I've completed almost all of my science requirements for matriculation (still have some math to cover tho), I think my gpa would go up with electives. But I can see where your logic may be that of adcoms.

Yea, I guess chances for an interview are pretty slim this year.... 🙁

I appreciate everyone's advice, very constructive...
