C- an acceptable grade in required course post-acceptance????

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
SO, if a school says that they do not accept grades below a C in required courses post-acceptance, does this include a C-?

I would think so. You should check with the dental school. Is the C- your final grade? If so, too bad you didn't ask that question before you took the final test...🙁

I'm sure you'll be fine!

it's not over. if u're already accepted, i think u just have to show that u got a C in that prereq course even if u fail it post-acceptance.

so if u did get a C- this qtr, take the class again in the spring(hopefully). or take it at a community college in the summer. just make sure u get at least a C before u matriculate.

You should be fine assuming the school accepts C's in general.
Which school? What are the post-acceptance reqs?

oh man.

UCLA and USC won't take a C- so re-take the class before school starts... sign up now!

LOL... Are you guys serious?

While a C- isn't a great grade, you are accepted to dental school and you didn't get an F.

Don't worry about it. You are FINE. If you are that concerned... call the school and ask 🙂 I did receive one C- last semester of school likely due to some extensive senioritis. To that point I had done fine. Schools seemed to overlook the grade. Only one didn't consider my application (U Maryland) and that was not due to that grade... it was due the fact that I tested out of english 101 and UMD didn't like that I only had 3 instead of 6 english credits because of this.

Most people know what happens after you get accepted to a professional program... face it, grades generally drop a bit.

I'm really tempted to just call this out and say this is bad advice.

Call the school, don't take any of our words for it. People HAVE had acceptances revoked for getting a C-. Don't be that person

Well, it depends on the school...for VCU, then OP is ok. But some schools still require for you to get B-'s and above. The school will have told you what the requirement is.
