C in one of the pre requisites?

It won't necessarily wreck you, but orgo won't be so easy either. Thankfully there's a scant number of things from gen chem that you need to know (e.g. orbitals, formal charge), but it is agreed by many that orgo is harder than gen chem. Just something to keep in mind

You'll be fine. Just don't make getting C's a habit. A couple of bad grades (even lower than C's) will not necessarily sink your app depending on your personal situation. Just be sure to keep doing phenomenal in the rest of your classes and other endeavors.

Just to give you some advice: organic is NOT harder than gen chem for everyone. Go in with this mindset and you'll do awful and hate it early on. Don't let anyone brainwash you. I did horrible (for me) in gen chem and got very very solid A's in orgo and now that's what my research is in, plus I switched my major to chemistry where my electives will be organic based. I agree, not everyone loves it, but don't hate it just yet!

I got a B in gen Chem 1, a B- in gem chem 2, and then an A in ochem. For me ochem was much easier than gen Chem! Just make sure you don't fall behind!

You don't need to worry about it. Do better next time. I think the only school I've seen which specifically wants A and B in prereqs is Columbia, and it's been a year or two since I checked that.

I had several C's including pre-reqs and I was WL'd at Columbia this cycle so maybe they've loosened up on that and maybe that's why I'm on the WL haha. Don't sweat it, what's done is done and don't dwell on it with excuses, just own it.
