So I do have a couple of C+ in upper levels my last year, but I was also part time and working full time, but I also have a lot of A's the year before. I'm afraid however, that my recent grades might impact the decisions of the adcoms. I've only retaken 2 courses before so I don't have a lot of grade replacement (if that's a good thing).
My stats are on my sig. (MCAT is 130/126/128/128)
Should I register for Winter term to retake some of my C+ classes?
Classes:
Biochem
Upper level Chem
Physics I
Microbiology
Calculus

Please don't quote as I plan to blank after getting some opinions to protect privacy.

If I had to guess, adcoms here like to play it safe and will likely suggest that you retake them. They play with statistics and would rather not get people's hopes up of being the exception to the rule. That said, your GPA is likely the more important factor here. Seeing as how it's above a 3.3, with that MCAT and the amount of schools you've applied to it's not unreasonable to take this cycle seriously.

If there's a course I need to retake, it should be Biochem then right? I'm hoping that there would be some overlooking the Physics grade due to my high C/P score.
Would my chances be significantly decreased if I decide not to retake these courses? Or is it bad as is? Sorry, I'm just really worried because my large upward trend is accompanied by a downward trend and shaky semesters. Hoping they can look past and see the effort I put in studying for the MCAT.

Fact of the matter is that Cs in science courses do look unfavorable, overall. Doubly so with a dramatic downward trend. With such a solid MCAT, it's just out of place and confusing so some Adcoms may not want to take the risk. But I also don't know your ECs or anything aside from your hard numbers, so there's also that to consider. From my discussions in my interviews, biochemistry is the most medschool-like course out of all of them and should be prioritized. Killing it won't ease their concerns but it may mitigate it. If you got an interview I would bet money that the Cs will be brought up and you'll need to own up to them and explain what you learned. Strictly speaking, your chances aren't terrible, but the safest route would be to retake Biochem and Chem and destroy them.

If you don't have an acceptance in your hand, microbiology and biochem would be your best choices. Plus they will give you a little refresher for hopefully medical school next year.

No Acceptances. Still in the Secondary stage. I'd have to take the classes in the Winter Semester. Should I update school about that? I mainly created this thread to assess whether my chances are significantly decreased because of my decline in grades and I fear it will probably be a bad outcome, like no interview at ALL 🙁 .
